<p>I'm trying to fix up the light meter on a Konica Auto S2 rangefinder, and I believe the photoresistor is providing zero resistance no matter how much light is hitting it. I'd like to try a replacement cell, but I don't know what kind of cell would provide the correct light readings (and fit in the housing, though that's easy to solve with some power tools if necessary).</p> <p>My only option at the moment would be to buy a for-parts unit just for the photoresistor, but I assume I could just as easily replace it with an off-the-shelf part for much less (not to mention that I'd be gambling on whether the for-parts unit has a working photoresistor.) <p>It's a cadmium sulfide (CdS) photocell. They tend to have a pretty standard form factor and seem to still be available.</p> <p>I can see one on Adafruit, and Sparkfun, so suppliers like Digikey probably have them.</p>
